Capacitive loads
Obciążenia wtórne z udziałem pojemnościowego obciążenia wtórnego zawsze nakładają ekstremalne wymagania na styki przełączania — niezależnie od rodzaju napięcia. Dotyczy to w szczególności lamp LED. Po włączeniu powodują one wysokoenergetyczne piki prądu, które mogą szybko osiągnąć więcej niż 100 A i doprowadzić do zespawania styku. Ale obciążenia wtórne z komponentami pojemnościowymi nie są natychmiast rozpoznawalne w każdym przypadku. Mogą być one również ukryte w komponentach, które są zazwyczaj przypisane do obciążeń indukcyjnych — np. zawory elektromagnetyczne i styczniki z obwodem wstępnym stosowanym w celu rozszerzenia zakresu napięcia wejściowego. W tych wstępnych obwodach kondensatory mogą generować szczyty prądu do 150 A, gdy są włączane. Może to również prowadzić do spawania styków lub zniszczenia wyjścia.
